One of the more interesting rumors to emerge this weekend is that the lack of announcements surrounding a "Doctor Strange" launch movie could be due to the character popping up onscreen elsewhere first.
The Playlist indicates the character could play a big role in the currently shooting sequel "Thor: The Dark World". Screenrant adds that Viggo Mortensen is the favourite for the role which Joel Edgerton was also wanted for.
The comic follows a New York surgeon who suffers injuries in a car crash, awakening to find himself endowed with great psychic powers.
At last report back in January, Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer had recently completed work on the script. Since then however, no further word had emerged on how progress was going.
Despite the sources, consider this very much a rumour for now.
