"Twilight" hunk Robert Pattinson is stepping into some very big shoes as he has become attached to play the one and only T.E. Lawrence in Werner Herzog's Gertrude Bell biopic "Queen of the Desert" says The Hollywood Reporter.
Naomi Watts plays Bell, an explorer, writer, archeologist and political attache who worked for British Intelligence during World War I. Bell had a major impact on the politics of the Middle East - helping establish framework for modern day Jordan and Iraq.
Lawrence was an explorer, writer, archeologist and British Army officer who himself played key roles in Middle Eastern revolutions around the same time period and was close friends with Bell. His adventures became one of the greatest films of all time - "Lawrence of Arabia".
Herzog also penned the screenplay for 'Queen' which aims to begin shooting this Fall in Jordan and England. Nick Raslan and Cassian Elwes will produce.
