The Thick of It
The BBC and Hulu are teaming up on a deal for the fourth season of Armando Iannucci's British political sitcom "The Thick of It".

Starting July 29th, Hulu and Hulu Plus will have exclusive U.S. rights to the first three seasons. Then Hulu services will show new episodes from the fourth season the same day they air on the BBC in the UK this Fall. [Source: Deadline]

The Newsroom
Aaron Sorkin has reportedly let go of at least half, and according to one report all but one, of the writing staff on his HBO series "The Newsroom". In a statement HBO says "Every year each show reassesses the needs of its writing staffs. This process is nothing out of the ordinary".

The series premiered to a solid 2.1 million viewers and quite good reviews for the Sorkin-penned pilot, but critical reaction has dropped off precipitously in recent weeks. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Last Ship
TNT has given a pilot order to the action drama series "The Last Ship" which Michael Bay will executive produce. Hank Steinberg ("Without a Trace") and Steven Kane ("The Closer") penned the pilot script.

An adaptation of the William Brinkley novel, the story centers on the crew of a naval destroyer who, after a global catastrophe decimates the earth’s population, are forced to confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they are among the only survivors. [Source: Deadline]
