Darren Lemke ("Shrek Forever After," "Jack the Giant Killer") is set to pen the live-action film adaptation of the classic educational video game and animated series "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" for Walden Media reports Heat Vision.

The story has the ACME agency’s greatest detective Carmen Sandiego having become the world’s greatest thief, so it’s up to her former partner to follow her clues and track her down. Their cat-and-mouse game leads the partner to confront a greater mystery: Is Carmen really a thief or a hero?"

Jennifer Lopez, Benny Medina, Simon Fields, Nick Osbourne, Trevor Engelson and Devin Andre will produce with Lopez tipped to star. The tone is said to be akin to "National Treasure" meets "The Thomas Crown Affair".

Disney previously optioned the film rights to the property in the late 1990s and developed a version for Sandra Bullock, but that version never took off.
