Lionsgate has delayed its proposed remake of the 80's classic "Dirty Dancing" for a full year says Variety.
The studio announced a July 26th 2013 release date last year, but the company's merger with Summit has left them with an excess of upcoming titles in their vaults. As a result there's talk going on around Hollywood this weekend that the project could well be scrapped altogether.
Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") has been set to direct since last August but no one has been cast as yet. Ortega and Debra Martin Chase will produce.
