Lashorasperdidas reports that one of Viggo Mortensen's upcoming projects is likely to be in the role of Alatriste Capitain, an adaptation of a very famous Spanish novel saga ("El Capitán Alatriste") written by Arturo Pérez Reverte.
The project is already set to be directed by Agustín Díaz Yanes ("Without News of God"), who has aso written the screenplay. The movie will apparently cover the whole saga, is set in the XVI century and mixes real people (like the famous poet Francisco de Quevedo) with fictional characters (like Alatriste).
The budget currently stands at about €20 million euros with US and French participation.
