In an interview with Moviehole this week, veteran actor Keith David ("Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "Crash") revealed that he's planning a biopic based on Nat King Cole.
David's been keen on bringing Cole's life to the big screen for quite some time. He's not only an accomplished actor, but a singer too - reguarly doing nightclub gigs. Like Kevin Spacey in "Beyond the Sea", David would likely be singing the tunes himself in such a movie.
Cole was one of the most popular American singers of the 1940s and 50s, with a wonderful, smooth vocal style. A pioneering black entertainer in jazz and pop. His career was often blighted by racism and by the demands of commercial music making.
Thanks to 'Clint'.
