"Wet Hot American Summer" director David Wain is re-teaming with two of its stars, Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler, on the rom-com parody "They Came Together" for Lionsgate's microbudget division reports Variety.
Rudd plays a big corporation exec who clashes with Poehler's quirky knick-knack store owner whom his company plans to shut down. That fiery relationship becomes a passionate on-again/off-again love affair.
The film skewers standard rom-com staples like jealous exes, wise animals, asshole co-workers, frightening in-laws and beauty shots of New York City.
Wain and Showalter wrote the script years ago with the latter set to produce. Shooting begins in July.
