With "The Avengers" dominating many a film writer's social media outlets and editorials for the next few weeks, Warners have thrown out some bones from "The Dark Knight Rises" just to make sure you don't forget it is on its way. Best guesses have the next trailer likely arriving alongside Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" on May 11th.
Warners used Entertainment Weekly this week to pimp the film in the rag's upcoming special Summer Movie Preview issue. In the piece comes some interesting quotes from director Christopher Nolan and actors Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy about their characters.
Hardy says Bane's voice is influenced by the comic book character’s Caribbean heritage among other things, and the concern over the muffled quality was initially discussed - "It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting..The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting.
In regards to Catwoman, Nolan says "She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about which implies an underlying darkness."
Meanwhile, Cardboard Cutouts have posted pictures of Batman, Bane and Catwoman they're selling as merchandise from the film and you can find high quality versions here including a shot of Anne Hathaway really showing off that skin tight outfit.
Finally, several new photos from the film hit the web yesterday though they were extremely poor quality magazine scans. Now though decent (if still a little soft) versions of them have just arrived via Batman News. Click the shots below to access the full gallery.
