With filming several weeks in on J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" sequel, a couple of set photos emerged on Friday and Saturday showing Spock (Zachary Quinto ) and Uhura (Zoe Saldana) battling with a new character played by Benedict Cumberbatch on what's described as a Space Barge set.
While we still don't know what role he's playing, this confirms at least it's human. However Cumberbatch's character also overcomes Spock's Vulcan nerve pinch it seems during the scene, not something your average human can really do. Indeed, under the brown leather coat he's donning, is what appears to be a black Starfleet skivvy. Click the photos below for more shots:
The photos have already caused issues, Zoe Saldana revealing to MTV at last night's Independent Spirit Awards that "J.J. was very upset. I have to say that. It's not going to stop people from intruding, but they are, and it's such a bummer because it only hurts them by stealing away the surprise."
