"Producers Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa ("Bee Season", "The Ice Harvest") have set up "The Only Living Boy in New York," a script by Allan Loeb, at Sony. Script has been generating buzz on the agency circuit in recent weeks. "Only Living Boy" is an updated version of "The Graduate" to some degree. "Fortress Entertainment has optioned the Stephen Marlowe novel "The Lighthouse at the End of the World" and has hired Merritt Johnson ("Lovelace") to adapt the dramatic thriller based on the mysterious disappearance of Edgar Allan Poe. Jonathan Sanger ("Suspect Zero," "The Producers") will produce. "Lighthouse" concerns the disappearance of the 19th century American author and poet just prior to his death. "Paramount has set up Michael Finkel's mystery-thriller "True Story" with Kevin McDonald to direct. Studio won the auction for film rights to Finkel's story of being fired from the New York Times for falsifying parts of a profile of young boys working on West African cocoa plantations. He then formed a bond with murder suspect Christian Longo, who had stolen Finkel's identity and was hiding under the name Michael Finkel in Mexico when he was arrested for the murders of his family.
