Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures has picked up North American & Caribbean rights to Asia Argento's "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things." Pic was adapted by scribe JT LeRoy from his own collection of short stories. Project centers on Jeremiah, a kid pulled from a foster home and thrown into a troubled life on the road with his teen mom. Sony Pictures Classics has snapped up U.S., Italian, U.K. and South America rights for "Joyeux Noel". Directed and written by Christian Carion, the film has been one of the standouts of the festival thus far, It recounts the famous World War I ceasefire at Christmas 1914, when Scottish, French and German troops laid down their weapons and sang carols, shared a drink and played a football match in No Man's Land.
