By Garth Franklin Thursday May 12th 2005 03:47PM

"Nip/Tuck" and "Fantastic Four" star Julian McMahon will play the title character in "Prisoner," an independent drama that has just begun production. David Alford and Robert Lynn wrote the script and are making their directorial debuts reports Variety.

McMahon plays a Hollywood director who is taken prisoner while scouting an abandoned prison for a film location. Elias Koteas plays the jailer; Dagmara Dominczyk, Kim Raver, Rocky Carroll and Tom Guiry round out the cast.

The film is lensing in Nashville, predominantly at the Tennessee State Prison. That facility no longer holds prisoners but was used as the shoot site for prison pics "The Last Castle" and "The Green Mile."
