Paul Weitz is readying "American Dreamz" for production at Universal Pictures, the social satire serving to reunite the helmer with actors who've appeared in previous Weitz films according to Variety.
"About A Boy" star Hugh Grant is already onboard, and talks are under way to bring aboard Dennis Quaid ("In Good Company") and the community service sentenced hunk Chris Klein ("American Pie"). Mandy Moore is also negotiating to join the pic.
Weitz, who penned the script, described "Dreamz" as a satire of American politics and show business. It follows several characters drawn from the political and entertainment spheres. Grant portrays a disaffected British TV personality, whilst Quaid is in line to play the U.S. President going through a nervous breakdown.
Production on "Dreamz" is set to get under way as early as July. "The movie examines the role of dreams and ambitions in American culture. It's about what's wrong with America and how close it is to what's right with America" says Weitz.
Thanks to 'Chris'
