Story concerns the chief exec of a company who is demoted to the mailroom and has to work his way back up. Shauna Robertson ("Elf," "Anchorman") will also produce. "Italian helmer Gabriele Muccino has come aboard to direct Will Smith in Columbia Pictures' "The Pursuit of Happyness". The project is based on the true-life rags-to-riches tale of investment banker Chris Gardner who was a homeless single dad at 30 who worked his way up the ranks to partner one of Chicago's biggest minority brokerage firms and became a self-made millionaire. Steve Conrad ("The Weather Man") penned the script. The project will begin filming in the San Francisco area this August..." (full details)
