Star Wars: Episode III "I'm a big fan, blah, blah, blah. Rest assured, I am, and believe not much comes close to Empire Strikes Back when thinking Star Wars. Except maybe for this movie. I could go on for hours how much there is to cherish in the last 45 minutes of Revenge. The duels are absolutely awesome..." (full details)

Bewitched "I appreciate the fact that this film tries a new spin on the remake formula, but I found this force majeure pretty hard to swallow. The premise is weird and self-aware, while the rest of the movie is formulaic romantic comedy. Characters from the original "Bewitched" make cameo appearances, which makes no sense because in the world of the movie, the old TV show is fictional..." (full details)

House of Wax "Between the amazing melting wax finale, hefty gore and interesting story- Warner Bros. and Dark Castle finally and I do mean finally have something worthy on their hands. Sure it's still got the stench of shit floating all over it, but the final act really did me in. It was brutal and unforgiving..." (full details)

"As far as the film as a whole, it's hard to say that the great outweighs the bad, as an hour of setup is just inexcusable when you're making someone sit in a theater for two hours. Jaume's visual style is apparent, and he does a great job with the direction of the actors and effects. However I feel the fault rests on the shoulders of the writers, Chad & Carey Hayes. There's entirely too much exposition and there's certain moments that are meant to be symbolic and just come out lame..." (full details)

Serenity "It's much more action oriented (there's a long-ish star wars like space battle in ships) than it is funny (which some of the TV episodes were) but mostly, it's about all these characters - they're so well written and detailed and that. Whilst Summer is the new fave, Mal is equally as cool - he's like Indiana Jones in space, full of smart arse comments and the wall anyone has to get through if they want to take on his crew/get to anyone of them..." "I was absolutely blown away. It was just so amazing. It surpassed all my expectations and even though I didn't think it was possible, gave me that much more respect for joss, the cast and the crew of firefly. The interaction between the characters was mirrored from the TV show; the one-liners hit the spot every time. The effects have been improved with the budget and the story offers enough answers to satisfy yet poses more questions to keep us curious..." (full details)

"The overall reception that the movie got from the audience was cheers from the fans of the show and a little boredom from those who were not familiar with it. There are so many characters, so many planets, so many subplots, in this movie that it's so hard to give a shit about anyone or any story.  It's so hard to even keep track of what the story even is. The one-liners here are really witty, and if the story focused more on the brother and sister dynamics between River and Simon rather than the Firefly cast, I probably would have been way more interested..."
