Casting Couch: Andre 3000, Huston, Jones

"Double Feature Films is developing a contempo musical to be toplined by Outkast rapper Andre '3000' Benjamin and penned by Tony-winning "Avenue Q" scribe Jeff Whitty. Andre will play someone with magical powers who comes into the lives of a family. He'll also serve as a co-producer on the pic and create original music. The company aims to make a film that's hip but also harks back to the golden age of Hollywood tuners, in which characters spontaneously break into song. Andre will be seen soon in Guy Ritchie's "Revolver" and John Singleton's "Four Brothers"..." (full details)

"Anjelica Huston, Brent Spiner and Lukas Haas have joined the cast of "Material Girls," which is set to star sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff. Martha Coolidge is directing the film, which began principal photography April 18th in Los Angeles. In the comedy, which follows a pair of cosmetics heiress sisters who lose their fortune in a questionable scandal, Huston will portray the owner of a rival cosmetics firm trying to wrest control of the girls' company. Spiner will portray the CEO of the besieged company, and Haas is the head of a free legal clinic to whom the girls go to for help..." (full details)

"Doug Jones (Abe Sapien in "Hellboy") has been personally cast by Guillermo Del Toro himself to play the title role in his upcoming movie, "Pan's Labyrinth". Doug will portray Pan, the fawn/satyr (Half man-half goat in Greek mythology) that befriends a troubled little girl during WWI, and will be shot entirely in Spain. Doug is the only American actor in the cast and he will have to learn how to speak his Spanish dialogue phoenetically..." (full details)
