2004 SAG Awards: ""The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" took home the Actor for ensemble in a motion picture at the 10th annual SAG Awards Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium. Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp, Renee Zellweger & Tim Robbins landing the big awards..." (more info). Forty Shades of Blue: "Resurfacing from an extended break after his 1996 Sundance entry "The Delta," Gotham-based filmmaker Ira Sachs will start shooting Feb. 25 "Forty Shades of Blue," a drama set in the music world of Memphis, Tenn., and exec produced by Sydney Pollack..." House of Wax: "Elisha Cuthbert, who stars in 20th Century Fox's "The Girl Next Door" and Fox hit "24," is in final negotiations to take a trip to Dark Castle Entertainment's horror remake. Cuthbert plays one of the teens, joining the already cast Chad Michael Murray..." (more info). Premonition: "Hyde Park Entertainment is reteaming with its "Bringing Down the House" helmer Adam Shankman on Bill Kelly's thriller "Premonition". Hyde Park will co-finance the pic, which revolves around a Midwest housewife whose husband dies in a car crash -- only to appear alive the next day..." (more info). The Bad Education: "Pedro Almodovar's "Bad Education" will open this year's Festival de Cannes, the first time a Spanish film has been accorded the honor, organizers said Friday. The film stars Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal ("Y Tu Mama Tambien"), who also plays the lead in Walter Salles' "The Motorcycle Diaries," on the life of Che Guevara, which is tipped to be selected for the festival..." The Exorcist: The Beginning: "Renny Harlin's reshoot of "Exorcist: The Beginning" wrapped Feb. 22 after 13 weeks on Rome's Cinecitta Studios backlot, where word is that not a single frame of the footage shot by Paul Schrader will be included in the bedeviled prequel's new cut. Harlin's 13-week effort equals the amount of time spent by Schrader on his original shoot..." (more info). A Doll's House: Norweigian News indicates Kate Winslet, John Cusack, Stellan Skarsgård and Tim Roth will all star in the Liv Ullman-directed adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's novel. Filming will begin in January 2005. After the Sunset: Ed Norton has a tiny cameo at a Lakers game, whilst the project is rumoured to be $8 million over budget and a week over its original shooting schedule. Blade: Trinity: A glimpse at Ryan Reynolds in the film is up at UHM. Catwoman: HNR reports that the project officially wrapped production in Vancouver on Friday after nearly five months. Clips: Clips are out for this week's releases Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights & Twisted. Doctor Dolittle 3: Eddie Murphy is opting out of a third comedy, see Moviehole for details. Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire: French actress Carole Bouquet announced on Canal Plus she has not landed a role. Mike Newell wanted her for the role but NOT the studio.
