The OC's Ryan Is Packing A Snake

When not bitching about Marissa's sudden lesbianism, subconsciously flirting with Seth or complaining about the hard life of having lived in a middle-income suburb, Ryan from "The O.C." is actually a nice guy. Now the character's much friendlier real life counterpart, Texan actor Benjamin McKenzie, is trying something else.

Production Weekly reports that McKenzie has joined Samuel L. Jackson in the New Line Cinema's "Pacific Air 121", previously known by such titles as "Flight 121" and the far more revealing "Snakes on a Plane". McKenzie is set to play the part of the doomed flight's rookie pilot.

Directed by David Ellis ("Cellular", "Final Destination 2"), the horror-thriller stars Jackson as an FBI agent on a long quest to bring a ruthless mob boss to justice. He finds a witness and takes him on a commercial flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. Trouble is, the mob boss has loaded the cargo with all kinds of venomous snakes. The frightened passengers must band together to survive.

Filming takes place in Vancouver from June 13th through to August 24th.
