From Hostage To Die Hard

By Garth Franklin Friday April 15th 2005 03:37PM

"Hostage" director Florent Siri recently spoke with Allocine and revealed that he has been asked by Bruce Willis to direct "Die Hard 4.0". The duo won't be the only two "Hostage" crew members involved, that film's screenwriter Doug Richardson is rewriting a script by Mark Bomback.

Siri says that he hasn't read the fourth installment's script yet and will have to do so before he makes a decision to take the job or not. One wonders whether the rather tepid box-office for "Hostage" will have had an impact as well.

Willis has previously said "the script will be done by summer and they want to shoot it in the fall. McClane's retired, he's not a cop anymore. It's completely different from the other three films. The only one of the other three films that I thought had any merit to it was the first one. Actually, in the third one I think Sam Jackson's work was really strong."
