Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to play a new role that has been created especially for the film version of Broadway musical "Rock of Ages" at New Line reports Deadline.
Zeta-Jones will play the wife of the mayor of Los Angeles, a conservative character out to do away with rock and roll - essentially making her the villain of the piece. Director Adam Shankman says "She's the moral majority person, kind of like if Tipper Gore and Anita Bryant had a love child in that era."
Zeta-Jones gets to be a part of two 80s rock anthems - Pat Benatar's Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It. Shankman still has yet to cast two key roles - a journalist and the mayor.
