Director's Chair: Hill, Schiller, Weitz

Fox has signed director Tim Hill ("Max Keeble's Big Move", "Muppets in Space") to helm its sequel to family comedy "Garfield: The Movie." Hill was a writer on Nick Films' "SpongeBob SquarePants Movie"; he and Tim Rubiner sold "Game Over," an animated comedy pitch, to Warner Bros. Hill also amassed numerous writing, directing and producing credits for Nickelodeon. Fox received a solid performance last summer from "Garfield," with $75 million domestically and $114 million in foreign markets..." (full details)

Longtime television director Rob Schiller is making his feature directorial debut on the indie "Cabrini Gardens." The romantic comedy centers on a single mother who works as a paralegal at a prestigious law firm. She ends up falling for the firm's rising star while at the same time falling into a case involving a snobby homeowners' association. The screenplay was written by Taja, David Odom and Breht Gardner. Paul Weitz ("In Good Company", "About a Boy") is set to write and direct "Another Bullshit Night in Suck City" for Columbia Pictures. The film is based on the book by Nick Flynn. "Night" is a darkly comic memoir that centers on an unconventional relationship between a father and son.
