Also at the "Kingdom of Heaven" junket this morning, Orlando Bloom spoke a bit about the two "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels they began shooting about nearly four weeks ago in the Caribbean.
Bloom, looking tanned and with the same goatee and a slightly longer hairstyle than the last "Pirates" movie, confirmed that shooting will run throughout the rest of the year with filming to move to Los Angeles once the Caribbean shoot is up. After that he's going back to London for some much needed R&R.
Oddly enough despite estimations, he confirmed that they seem to be shooting the two films separately and he hasn't read the third film's script as yet. The Caribbean shoot is mostly for the second and some of the third film, most of the third will be done in Los Angeles.
The actor put on about 15-20 pounds of muscle for "Kingdom of Heaven" but looks to have dropped much of that extra mass for "Pirates."
He reprises his role of Will Turner in the sequel and like the first film "Will is the straight man who moves the story forward and he continues that. He becomes more of a pirate, but piracy is not in his blood in the same way it is for Jack Sparrow" says Bloom.
But the character is going to develop it sounds like - "there are plans to darken Will up a little, and make him a little more questionable which will then resolve themselves".
As for the Keith Richards rumours - "I've heard the rumours as well as you. I think if he makes an appearance it will probably be in the third movie and we'll see what happens".
