Benicio del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal have emerged as the two leading candidates to star in Emir Kusturica's "Seven Friends of Pancho Villa and the Woman with Six Fingers" reports Blic.
Johnny Depp was originally lined up to play the infamous Mexican revolutionary general in the film which was supposed to start shooting this month. Since then however the project, an adaptation of James Carlos Blake‘s novel "The Friends of Pancho Villa", has hit a few rough spots and Depp dropped out.
Salma Hayek, originally attached to the project when Depp was still on board, remains involved. Kusturica will soon meet the two actors in Cuba and make a decision after that.
