Dutch actor Yorick van Wageningen (”Beyond Borders," "The Chronicles of Riddick”) is set to play the small but key role of Nils Bjurman in David Fincher's upcoming adaptation of best-selling thriller "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" reports De Volkskrant (via The Playlist).
In the books, Bjurman is the brutish new court appointed guardian over Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) when her previous guardian Holger Palmgren (Bengt C.W. Carlsson) suffers a heart attack. The character's actions are amongst the darkest in the trilogy but are also key components of the story.
Swedish actress Mathilda von Essen has also joined the cast as Anita Vanger, sister of Cecilia, a part cut out of the previous Swedish film adaptations.
