"Batman Begins" shot key scenes in Iceland (though set them in China), "The Dark Knight" was partly set and shot in Hong Kong, now Bucharest in Romania is looking to be a short but key locale in the upcoming "The Dark Knight Rises".
The Romania Business Insider (via Superhero Hype) reports that the film's producers recently met with city officials to discuss filming around Bucharest's historical center, Edgar Quintet Street or the Palace of Parliament.
Director Christopher Nolan also unofficially visited the Turda salt mines in Romania last month. Like the previous two films, a certain amount of shooting is expected to take place in the UK and Chicago though 'Rises' has setup production offices in Los Angeles where some shooting will take place. Detroit has also been reported as a filming location.
