Syriana (script) "The screenplay has no real flaws. Stephen Gaghan has managed to entertain me for 151 pages. Slowly, you start putting together the many pieces of the puzzle. The final image is to my surprise very delightful. I only found one storyline a bit weak. It's the Miss USA/Rich Arab plotline. How it fit in the general story wasn't really relevant. If the movie is too long, I wouldn't be surprised if Gaghan cuts a lot of it. Is it better then Traffic? Yes..." (full review)

Miami Vice (script) "Miami Vice is not a buddy flick/shoot 'em-up. Mann's script is a character drama. That's not to say there isn't gunplay in it - there are several very cool gunfights as only Michael Mann could conceive - but the narrative and characters come first. This big-screen Vice is more akin to The French Connection and Donnie Brasco than to Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys..." (full review)

Sin City "I highly recommend this movie. It's easily the best movie I've seen so far this year and I see a lot of them. A lot of people walked out of the free screening I attended, because this definitely isn't for everybody. But if you like things that are a little unusual, rush out to see this..." (full review)

The Ring Two "Considering the effective simplicity of the 'mechanism of evil' of the first film (the haunted tape), I was surprised to see it buried after the opening scene in favor of a tepid child possession story that plays out like Audrey Rose meets A Nightmare on Elm Street (with a major plot point straight out of "Ghost", of all things). Actually, "The Ring Two" is eerily similar to another one of director Hideo Nakata?s Japanese films, "Dark Water"..." (full review)

Kung Fu Hustle "A hyperkinetic, Looney Toons inspired combination of kung fu, comedy and action that will leave you alternately awestruck and laughing out loud..." (full review)

The Crow: Wicked Prayer "Honestly I've been thinking alot about this movie since we saw it. It was at times disturbing and I was affected by some of the scenes and images that have stuck with me. What stood out most was a massacre in a barn and the beautiful reunion of Eddie's character and his lover..." (full review)

"What really makes the film is the relationship between Eddy and his girl and that comes off very pure. The scenes with Eddy and her really worked. The film had a strong beginning, but almost lost it near the end. A sequence with Dennis Hopper seemed very out of place, but some people were laughing so maybe it's just my tastes. The film made up for it in the end..." (full review)
