Out doing promotion for "Legend of the Guardians" in Europe, filmmaker Zack Snyder has spoken about the upcoming "Superman" project with various European press outlets. Amongst the facts garnered:
Asked if it would be shot in 3D, Snyder tells Digital Spy it's "really just too early to tell". He adds that his favourite incarnation of "Superman" thus far were the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve films, but he won't be too slavish to that material - "It's hard not to like it, it's so awesome but I don't think this will have anything to do with any of those."
A more interesting quote comes from Filmsactu (via Bleeding Cool which hints of a possible origin film - "As I have already explained, the film will focus on the early days of Superman, so there will be no links with the other films. This is not a remake then."
Don't expect any influences from famous stories from the comic either. Snyder says "although I still cannot talk about the script, I can assure you that this new Superman will not be based on any comic book in particular."
