"Bruce Willis is set to star in "Solace," a New Line thriller scripted by Ted Griffin and Sean Bailey ("Ocean's Eleven"). Picture will start production in July. Willis will play a doctor with psychic powers who's enlisted by the police to help catch a serial killer. It turns out the killer has similar gifts. A director is expected to be announced this week. At one point the film was being considered as a potential sequel to New Line's 1995 hit "Se7en" but plans for that have been cancelled..." (full details)

"Nick Nolte is joining the cast of "Peaceful Warrior," the adaptation of Dan Millman's "Way of the Peaceful Warrior." The project begins filming this week in Los Angeles. Victor Salva ("Jeepers Creepers"), is directing the film from a screenplay by Kevin Bernhardt, Anthony DiPietro and Bob Dolman. The story follows a gymnast in training who is taught by a strange old man named Socrates to maximize performance using a unique blend of Eastern philosophy and Western fitness to cultivate the true essence of a champion..." "Aaron Eckhart has booked a starring turn in Brian De Palma's "The Black Dahlia." The movie is an adaptation of James Ellroy's 1940s-set novel about two LAPD cops who investigate the real-life case of the murder of fledgling actress Elizabeth Short. Eckhart will play one of the officers. Josh Hartnett portrays the other cop. Hilary Swank and Scarlett Johansson also have been cast. Shooting takes place next month in Bulgaria.
