The Rock Talks Doom & Bravo

By Garth Franklin Wednesday March 9th 2005 02:20PM

Wrestler turned action star The Rock spoke with Empire Online yesterday about two of his upcoming projects - the vidgame adaptation "Doom" and a film version of the cartoon "Johnny Bravo":

On Doom, he confirmed that it will be "an unapologetic rated-R movie that pulls no punches" and that he plays "the commanding officer who, without ruining it for everyone, turns bad". He also spoke a bit about the effects - "The monsters are real, they're not CGI. They're made by Stan Winston who did Jurassic Park and Predator and all that. So the monster's got weight and when they're in a scene they're like Aliens! I get to transform and become, I'm going to tell you this right now, the BMFOTP. Know what that means? It means the baddest motherfucker on the planet."

He briefly mentioned "Johnny Bravo", the Elvis-wannabe toon whom he's set to play in a live-action adaptation - "The script is so funny and we're just waiting for the right opportunity, waiting for the script to get even better. I'm on a quest to find my dad, and I think it's Wayne Newton, and it's insane."

To finish off on the "Doom" news for the day, the first photo from the sci-fi actioneer has gone online & click the thumbnail below for a larger version.
