Steve Carell and Sandra Bullock are set to star in comedy "The Abstinence Teacher" reports The Playlist.
The project would reunite Carell with "Little Miss Sunshine" directing duo Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris who are in talks to direct the film adaptation of Tom Perrotta's upcoming novel which the author will adapt for the screen.
Set in a conservative small town, Bullock would play the divorced local high school's sex education teacher who has a breezy attitude to sex. Carell would play a reformed alcoholic turned born again evangelical Christian who initially clashes with the teacher, and then both find themselves growing closer.
Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa will produce. Two of Perotta's other works, "Election" and "Little Children", have previously been adapted and were both produced by Dayton and Faris.
