Mike Mendez, the director of the recent cult horror smash "The Convent" is currently in production in Greensboro, North Carolina on his new film "The Gravedancers". The cast includes Dominic Purcell ("Blade: Trinity," TV's "John Doe"), Clare Kramer (Glory from TV's "Buffy"), Tcheky Karyo ("The Core," "The Patriot"), Marcus Thomas ("Drowning Mona," "Bigger Than the Sky"), Josie Moran ("The Aviator," "Van Helsing") and Megahn Perry ("The Convent," "The Lyon's Den"). Here's a closer look at the story:

As life moved on for close college friends Harris, Kira, Devin and Sid - the four went their own ways and rarely saw each other anymore. When Devin dies, the remaining trio not content with the funeral service, sneak into the cemetery later that night to celebrate their friend. Upon his grave lies some sort of poem which they recite in celebration of their friend's life - unfortunately the prose is that of an ancient curse, and they have unwittingly released a trio of malevolent spirits upon whose graves they have danced. These spirits will not return to their eternal rest until they have taken Harris, his wife Allison, Kira and Sid back to the other side with them.

The screenplay was written by Brad Keene and Chris Skinner, who wrote the remake of "Prom Night." The director of photography, David Armstrong also shot the box office hit "Saw." "The Gravedancers" is produced by Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso for Code Entertainment. Their credits include the feature films "Drowning Mona," "Scorched," and "Noel." The film is also produced by Bill McCutcheon and Elmer Lawrence Furman, Jr.

Thanks to 'Mike'.
