Nicolas Cage's next movie will be a remake of classic horror/thriller "The Wicker Man" reports Variety.
Cage has signed on to star director Neil LaBute's planned remake of 1973 film, which starred Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland and Christopher Lee. The film stars production in July in Vancouver.
LaBute, who adapted the screenplay, has shifted the action to the USA where a sheriff investigates the disappearance of a young girl on a remote island off the coast of Maine. His hopes of finding the girl become increasingly uncertain as he unearths evidence of pagan rituals.
