Simon Baker ("The Mentalist") and Paul Bettany are both in negotiations to join the GFC-themed indie drama "Margin Call" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows eight people working at a large investment bank when the financial crisis hit the US. Over the course of a day they try to hang onto their careers as fortunes are lost all around them.
Bettany will play a top-tier trader unabashedly unafraid of who he is despite the deepening crisis. Baker will portray a ruthless, high-powered securities broker who oversees several characters. Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, Carla Gugino and Zachary Quinto also star.
J.C. Chandor makes his directing debut and wrote the script while Quinto will produce with Neal Dodson, Joe Jenckes, Corey Moosa, Michael Benaroya and Robert Ogden Barnum. Filming kicks off next week in New York.
