The writing team behind the upcoming "Green Lantern" film have been hired by Warner Bros. Pictures to pen two treatments - a 'Lantern' sequel and a film based on the comic hero "The Flash" says Heat Vision.
Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim made the deal which would include them going on to write the screenplay for one of the two projects. Which one though has not been determined.
'Lantern' is currently shooting in New Orleans with Ryan Reynolds as the emerald ring-wielding superhero. Plans for a sequel this far out show the studio is very confident in the property.
Various failed attempts at a 'Flash' film have taken place over the years, including a version which Reynolds himself was attached to. This newest attempt will feature the Barry Allen incarnation of the character and will take inspiration from Geoff Johns' recent work on the title.
