America's tween sweetheart Miley Cyrus has a crush on a girl, "Tank Girl" that is.
Showbiz Spy reports that the 17-year-old singer/actress is "now in talks" to star in a new film adaptation of the British comic character.
A source tells the site "This would be a new big-budget take on 'Tank Girl'. Miley wants to establish herself in movies and Tank Girl could be the perfect franchise for her."
The punk-influenced comic follows the surreal and often absurd adventures of a young tank-driving woman and her mutant kangaroo boyfriend. With a bounty on her head and a penchant for random acts of sex, drug use and violence, the girl who sets out on a series of misadventures.
The property was previously adapted in 1995 into a cult film starring Lori Petty and Naomi Watts which both critically and commercially flopped.
So why would Cyrus do such a project? The actress says "I don't have the feeling that people are taking me seriously, simply because I'm so young. I hope that's going to change."
How likely is it to happen though? Comic creators Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin have been vocally unhappy with the previous film over the years and are unlikely to move forward on another film adaptation unless they have major creative control.
