"Prison Break" star Sarah Wayne Callies has scored the female lead role in AMC's "The Walking Dead" reports Entertainment Weekly.
Set after a zombie apocalypse, the story follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who travel in search of a safe and secure home. Callies plays Rick's wife who 'slowly unravels' over the course of the series.
Frank Darabont will write, direct and executive produce. Filming kicks off on a six-episode first season next month in Atlanta.
Deadline reports that with the decisions to be made this week over the remaining 'on the bubble' shows, there's talk that several may switch networks if their home doesn't want them.
Specifically CBS's "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Ghost Whisperer" may transition to ABC if the Eye decides not to hold onto the property as the network apparently has several strong pilots this year to freshen up its line-up.
Though a decision hasn't been made yet, the chances of NBC's "Chuck" scoring a fourth season renewal are looking very strong.
Oliver Stone and author Bruce Wagner will develop an LA-set drama series currently dubbed "Still Holding" of Epix reports Variety.
Based on the novel by Wagner, it will "explore the disparate worlds of three people living in Los Angeles".
Comic Vine reports that with the underperformance of recent direct-to-DVD titles set in the DC animated universe such as "Green Lantern: First Flight" and the "Wonder Woman" movie, Bruce Timm says a number of projects that were in development have been canceled.
