Earlier in the week Paramount Pictures passed on an "Anchorman" sequel, now a tweet from Ben Stiller indicates the rumoured "Zoolander" follow-up may have met the same fate.
As previously reported, "Iron Man 2" scribe Justin Theroux was said to be working on the script with Stiller while Jonah Hill was being rumoured for the villain in this sequel set ten years after the 2001 original.
Now it sounds like the studio has passed on green lighting and financing the film as Stiller says "Ron Burgundy and Derek Zoolander looking to appear in sequels. Both men destitute, without means or intellect to fund their own comebacks".
No guarantee of its death by any means, but it would seem the chances of the project happening are much slimmer.
