One day after being announced as being attached to "The Optimist", actor Seann William Scott is in negotiations to star in the comedy "Mr. Woodcock" for New Line Cinema says The Hollywood Reporter. Craig Gillespie is helming and Bob Cooper is producing the film which centers on a young man, to be played by Scott, who returns to his hometown to stop his mother from marrying his old high school gym teacher, who made life a living hell for him and many of his classmates. Billy Bob Thornton has been cast as the gym teacher. NL Production head Toby Emmerich says "It's really a good comedic pairing. It's like the first time you heard Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro teaming up. It feels good."
