Anna Faris ("Scary Movie," "The House Bunny") is tipped to headline a remake of the 1980 Goldie Hawn comedy "Private Benjamin" for New Line reports Risky Biz Blog.
In the original Hawn played a privileged woman who entered the army after her husband dies on their wedding night.
The plan is to update the comedy for contemporary times with laughs less at the military's expense and more on the fish-out-of-water and self-empowerment themes the premise delivers.
Amy Talkington is in discussions to adapt the script. The original 'Benjamin' won a WGA award for its screenplay, and scored Oscar nominations for its script, actress (Hawn) and supporting actress (Eileen Brennan).
