"Steve Bing, the energetic billionaire who backed "The Polar Express" has decided to finance his first major directing effort through his Shangri-La Entertainment shingle. "Harry and the Butler" will star Anthony Hopkins and Morgan Freeman in a loose remake of 1962 Danish film "Harry og Kammertjeneren." Damian F. Slattery wrote the script. Freeman will play a blues musician who has lost his way and finds himself living in an abandoned boxcar in Los Angeles. When he comes into money, he hires an English butler (Hopkins), who helps the musician find his way back..." (more details) New Line Cinema has purchased a pitch, "The Optimist," for Seann William Scott to star in and produce. Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein will write the "Optimist" script, which centers on a man who's born without the gene for unhappiness. His perspective changes when he falls in love with a cynical reporter. Oakley and Weinstein's credits include "The Simpsons." Scott is currently shooting "The Dukes of Hazzard" for Warner Bros..." (more details) While this has not been confirmed by DreamWorks, World Entertainment News Network is reporting that former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker will voice a character in Shrek 3, targeted for a May, 2007 release. Parker is quotes as saying, "I am delighted to be doing a role that my children and friends' children will be able to see."
