Producer's Credit: Money, God, Khadr

Sony Pictures Classics will finance writer-helmer Nicole Holofcener's "Friends With Money," starring Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Keener, Frances McDormand and Joan Cusack. SPC has world rights to the film, which is shooting in Los Angles. This Is That's Anthony Bregman is producing the pic, budgeted at roughly $6 million, with company partners Anne Carey and Ted Hope. The Spiritual Cinema Circle, a DVD club that deals in uplifting and inspiring films, is planning its first foray into film production. The company will produce an adaptation of Neal Donald Walsch's "Conversations With God" and plans to premiere it next year exclusively to its subscribers. Vincent Newman Entertainment has acquired film rights to the story of Abdurachman Khadr, who was raised in Osama Bin Laden's Afghanistan compound and became a CIA informant. The 21-year-old Khadr, the subject of a PBS "Frontline" documentary last April, is living in Canada and interviewing journalists to collaborate on a book. Khadr was groomed to become a terrorist because his father, who was recently killed in Pakistan, was a member of Bin Laden's inner circle. As Khadr matured, he became increasingly disillusioned with Al Qaeda, resulting in rebelliousness, attempts to run away and repeated refusals when his father attempted to get him to become a suicide bomber..."
