Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group have scored North American distribution rights to Patrick Hughes' debut feature, the Australian contemporary revenge western "Red Hill".

Ryan Kwanten stars as young Constable Shane Cooper who relocates to the small high-country town of Red Hill with his pregnant wife in order to start a new family. When news of a prison break in the city sends the local law enforcement officers into a panic, Shane’s first day on duty quickly goes from bad to worse.

Enter Jimmy Conway, a convicted murderer serving life behind bars, he returns to the isolated outpost seeking revenge. Now caught in the middle of what quickly becomes a horrifying blood bath, Shane will be forced to take the law into his own hands if he is to survive. Tommy Lewis, Kevin Harrington, Steve Bisley and Claire van der Bloom also star.

The film recently premiered at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival and quickly scored theatrical sales around the world, including France, German, UK and Canada to name a few. Transmission will release the film in Australia later this year.
