Sony Pictures will develop the romantic comedy "The Pioneer Woman" into a Reese Witherspoon star vehicle says Deadline.
Based on Ree Drummond's blog, the story follows a woman on a trip from LA to Chicago who finds herself stuck in Oklahoma where she changes from a spoiled city girl to the domestic ranch wife of the cowboy of her dreams.
Laura Ziskin and Pam Williams will produce.
