British actor David Morrissey ("Captain Corelli's Mandolin", "Hilary & Jackie", TV's "Blackpool") has landed the male lead role opposite Sharon Stone in "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction" which Michael Caton-Jones will helm in London starting this March says The Hollywood Reporter.

Stone will reprise her role as the seductive sociopathic novelist Catherine Tramell. Morrissey will play Dr. Andrew Glass, a psychiatrist who becomes entangled in her cat and mouse game. The sequel follows Tramell from San Francisco to London, where she again finds herself in trouble with the law. Glass, a criminal psychiatrist, is appointed by Scotland Yard to evaluate her. Morrissey will also be seen this year opposite Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen in Miramax's "Derailed" which he recently wrapped. Intermedia has financed the film with a domestic distribution deal at MGM, with C2 Pictures handling international rights. Thanks to 'Hit Me with Your Rhythm Pick'.
