In the post "Rings"-era, New Line is in a rather unusual stage of quietly regrouping. With around ten films last year, only one of which was deemed a success story (the sleeper hit "The Notebook") and only eight on its schedule for 2005, things seem to be on slow cook right now for Bob Shaye & co. as they prepare for some big properties to be released in 2006. Two such properties however won't be two of its more profitable money making franchises in recent years. Creature Corner asked New Line Cinema's President of Production Toby Emmerich about further "Blade" or 'Nightstalkers' film as well as the status of a "Freddy Vs. Jason" sequel.
Emmerich responded: "There are no plans for another Freddy Vs. Jason film right now. There are no plans right now for a Nightstalkers film until I see how well Blade: Trinity does on video."
