Penelope Cruz could be serving as the lead in "Antichrist" and "Dogville" director Lars von Trier's next project, the psychological disaster thriller "Melancholia" reports The Playlist.
The $5 million project will apparently utilise some sci-fi elements and visual effects, but mostly it'll be a bleak and dark exploration of the "psychology view of a disaster".
Shooting will take place in Sweden and Germany later this year with a Cannes 2011 premiere likely. Peter Aalbaek Jensen will produce.
