Comic-Con: Star Wars: Episode III

No matter how much the last two prequels have irked the fanbase, they still turned out in droves yet again for this year's "Star Wars" panel which packed the 6500 capacity 'plane hangar' sized Hall H to the brim. Like many of the previous year's panels, this was essentially an extended live advertisement for the official 'Hyperspace' deal, and yet it did have some big moments.

The most notable was of course the announcement of the new title "Revenge of the Sith" which drawed a huge response from the fanboy crowd. When Steve Sansweet removed his top and revealed the shirt (of which many copies very conveniently went on sale five minutes later), the boy made headlines worldwide and gave the convention its biggest exclusive.

Also in a surprise turn out both Hayden Christensen and Carrie Fisher popped up alongside usual stalwart producer Rick McCallum. Hayden in fact surprisingly proved the winner of
three and was both gracious and articulate (don't get me started on McCallum). There was some behind the scenes stuff (the best involving the Vader outfit) and old outtakes (eg. Kurt Russell's Han Solo audition) but no actual completed footage sadly. The sneak peek at stuff from the original trilogy DVD though was quite cool.
