Rachel Weisz is tipped for the title role in the historical drama "James Miranda Barry", according to Production Weekly. Marleen Gorris will direct the film early next year with shooting set for the UK and South America. Sean Bean, Sean Pertwee and Janet Suzman have also joined the cast. Set in 1814, the story follows a woman of unknown origins graduated from Edinburgh Medical School disguised as a man and thus becoming the first woman doctor in the Western world. She also served in the British military disguised as a male surgeon for forty-five years.
Speaking with The New York Post, actor Val Kilmer revealed he'll reteam with "Alexander" co-star Colin Farrell and "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" co-star Robert Downey Jr. on a small film next year. Val will be co-producing "a small shoot in L.A. It's four scripts in a row put together in one comedy called 'What Love Is and What's It All About".
An early January start date is planned for the production of "Boss 'N Up", a feature film based on the music of Snoop Dogg according to Coming Soon. Snoops stars as Corde, a young charismatic player who sees a better way of life and financial success in the street game. His mentor is Orange Juice, a veteran man of leisure, with all the street credibility to back it up. OJ teaches Corde the rules of the game and raises him up as his young prot. Rappers Lil Jon & Trina, along with comedian Scrucho also star.
