British Independent Film Awards
"Moon" scored 'Best British Independent Film' and 'Best Debut Director', while "Fish Tank" scored best director (Andrea Arnold) and breakthrough actor (Katie Jarvis).

Acting nods went to Carey Mulligan ("An Education"), Tom Hardy ("Bronson"), Anne-Marie Duff ("Nowhere Boy") and John Henshaw ("Looking for Eric").

"Let The Right One In" scored 'Best Foreign Film', "In the Loop" took 'Best Screenplay', and "Bright Star" won 'Best Cinematography.

Washington DC Film Critics Awards
"Up in the Air" dominated the night and scored Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor for George Clooney.

"The Hurt Locker" took Best Ensemble, "Up" got Best Animated Film, "Sin Nombre" won Best Foreign Film, and "Food, Inc." won Best Documentary.

Carey Mulligan ("An Education") took Best Actress while Christoph Waltz ("Inglourious Basterds") and Mo’Nique ("Precious") scored Best Supporting acting nods.

"Inglourious Basterds" won Best Original Screenplay, Gabourey Sidibe ("Precious") won Breakthrough Performance, and "Nine" won Best Art Direction.
